Major Scale

Major Scale

The term "Scale" is used to describe a specific set of notes that are used to build melodies and chords.

The Major Scale is one such scale you must understand for your Higher Music.

It is the scale that features in the Sound of Music - this song is all about the C major scale, using the French solfege note names Do-Re-Mi-Fa-So-La-Ti and Do again at the top.

So now you roughly know what the scale should sound like, let's go into some depth.

C Major Scale

This is the presentation we used in class to demonstrated the pattern. Note how the interval between each note is important to keep it major sounding!

And so you know how a major scale sounds in reality - here's a guy telling you all about it!
